The Journey of Social Initiatives 2025

Under the concept, “Explore the ultimate in writing, drawing and beyond, while pioneering a broader inking experience,” established in our mid-term business plan “Wacom Chapter 4,” we continued throughout FY2025 to promote a diverse range of initiatives together with Wacom team members and communities.

At the heart of these efforts is our belief in the profound human act of “kaku”, the inking experience. For more than 50,000 years, humans have used this powerful form of expression. To help carry this profound human experience into the next 50,000 years, this report look back on the current state of our Social Initiatives, and the journey we have taken so far.

  • Since 2019, we have published a series of articles introducing initiatives centered on our team members’ “Sparks”, which is their motivation for working at Wacom. Over the past seven years, this series has grown to a total of 48 articles.
  • The cumulative number of team members (employees) who have participated in Social Initiatives activities reached 192.
  • Collaboration with communities has also continued to expand. To date, initiatives have been carried out together with 36 companies and organizations, as well as 300 external community members.
  • “Our Sparks,” a feature article series that highlights creative inspiration, or sparks, and has been continuously published since 2019, has reached its 12th installment. In FY2025, the series featured two works: “Doguya” by Bunta and “From Exile to Expression” by Ala’a Al Hasani.
  • Since 2024, we have been conducting workshops under the theme “Finding Connections to Society Through Wacom’s Instruments and Technology.” In FY2025, we held a digital art workshop for seniors and a circuit board workshop designed to deepen interest in and understanding of pen circuit board technology. Through these workshops, the total time spent engaging in shared “inking experiences” with communities reached 1,455 minutes (24.25 hours across six workshops), and the total number of works created together with communities reached 210.

  • In January 2025, to support communities affected by the Los Angeles wildfire in the United States, we participated in “AnimAID,” a fundraising campaign launched by ASIFA-Hollywood, and donated 10 million yen.
  • To help children discover the joy of creativity, we donated 35 creative books on illustration, design, and related subjects to “Minna no Toshokan ‘Hon to Ippitsu’” in Kinko Town, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
  • In cooperation with Kakushin Inc. and Shimada Living Partners Co., Ltd., we held a digital art workshop for seniors, and together with K.P.D Co., Ltd., we conducted a circuit board workshop. Through these initiatives, new connections with local communities were formed.
  • Since FY2024, we have continued to hold in-house film screenings and fundraising activities, providing Wacom team members with opportunities to reflect on social issues.

All information above is current as of March 2026.
